During his speech, Senator Inzunza made no mention of his legal situation in the face of accusations drug trafficking that weigh against him, but limited himself to following the itinerary established by the Justice Commission to discuss the preliminary projects presented.
It should be noted that the reappearance occurs after weeks of questioning by legislators of opposition and various political actors, who had pointed out the senator’s lack of public activity since the accusations from USA.
Although the senator formally notified his reinstatement to the Senate Since the end of May, he had not been observed actively participating in legislative meetings until this Thursday, in the Justice Commission chaired by Javier Corral Juradowith whom he held a meeting a month ago in Culiacan.

On April 29, the United States Department of Justice announced formal indictments against the governor on leave, Ruben Rocha Moyaand nine other former Sinaloa officials, including Senator Inzunza, for alleged links with “Los Chapitos”faction of Sinaloa Cartel.
According to the charges, Inzunza Cazarez facilitated the flow of drugs to this criminal group in exchange for political favors and permanence in power.

Just last June 17, he definitively announced that he will not request license of his seat in the Chamber of Senators nor will he separate himself from his jurisdiction until the end of the period for which he was elected “with the vote of about 700 thousand Sinaloans”.
“That is the responsibility that the people of Sinaloa gave me, and I will honor it, as until today, with punctuality, commitment and decorum, until its end in 2030,” said the Morenista.
