(Updated text) – The Basic Court in Pristina has sentenced Agron Kyçyk to 4 months of conditional imprisonment with a verification period of 1 year and an additional sentence of 6 months of ban on social networks due to the threat to the journalist, Ardit Kika.

The accused Agron Kyçyk has pleaded guilty to the criminal offense of “Intimidation”, against the KOHË journalist, Ardit Kika.
The State Prosecutor, Arta Cukaj, during the reading of the indictment, said that the defendant seriously threatened the journalist Ardit Kika.
“According to the Prosecutor’s Office, on 22/01/2026, around 22:00, in Pristina, the defendant Agron Kyçyk seriously threatened the company “Koha”, the injured journalist Ardit Kika, with the aim of intimidation, so that through Facebook he wrote the words “this stopped the liquidation in the name of the people, we endured a lot, let the graves fresh from the war be followed, guess what, these are working for Russia, America is arming us and trying to get us membership in NATO as soon as possible – and our media guess what disinformation they slander, klm”, with which the victim – journalist Ardit Kika, has a feeling of fear, anxiety and insecurity for life”, said prosecutor Arta Cukaj.
After the reading of the indictment, the defendant Agron Kyçyk pleaded guilty to the offense with which he is accused.
Prosecutor Cukaj also accepted the plea of guilty.
“Since the accused has admitted guilt for the criminal offense, and that this admission is in harmony with the proposed evidence, I propose to the court to declare him guilty, to consider the admission of guilt as a mitigating circumstance”, she said. Even the injured party, Ardit Kika, told the Court to take into account the economic situation of the defendant.
“I am making a legal property request, and I want to add that the accused did not delete the comment even after the indictment was filed. It was like this 10 days after the indictment was filed. I am asking the Court to take into account the economic situation of the defendant,” said Kika.
As for the defense of the defendant, the lawyer Bedri Abdullahu asked the Court to impose a fine on the defendant.
“On the occasion of the court’s sentencing, I request that my client be sentenced as low as possible, bearing in mind that in this case, we have no aggravating circumstances, and that we have many mitigating circumstances, such as the admission of guilt, sincere repentance, cooperation with the justice authorities. I will impose a fine, at the minimum possible,” he said.
And the defendant Kyçyk said that there was no intention for the victim. He said that when he made the comment he had family problems.
“I agree, I apologize to you all and to the person in question. I did not have any intentions towards the person. I did not know the person or the newspaper. When I made that comment, I had family problems.”
