Nukissiorfiit’s employees have been working throughout the night to re-establish the electricity supply in Uummannaq, the utility company states.
Wednesday morning tells Nukissiorfiit in an update that employees have been working hard through the night to re-establish the electricity supply in Uummannaq.
– The work has made good progress, and 3/4 of the city is now back with electricity. Work continues to resolve the last technical challenges at individual plants and ensure a stable supply to the remaining areas, writes Nukissiorfiit.
According to the company, short-term and local outages may still occur, but the company’s employees work purposefully to make the overall supply completely stable.
Nukissiorfiit thanks the citizens of Uummannaq for their patience and understanding throughout the process, as well as the employees and partners who have worked around the clock to get the supply back to the city.
– We are following the situation closely and will announce again when there is significant new information to inform about, writes Nukissiorfiit.
It was on Monday that a fire broke out at the electricity plant in the city, and pictures from the city show that there was considerable material damage during the fire.
Therefore, Nukissiorfiit has been forced to have generators shipped to Uummannaq to re-establish the supply. The ships with generators arrived on Tuesday evening.
