European Union MP Nikola Zirojevica held a media conference in the hall of the Parliament of Montenegro today.
“I am using the opportunity to inform the public that today is the third time that the session of the Security Committee has not been held,” Zirojević said.
The member of the ES added that the Board is currently functioning with a reduced composition, and that Miodrag Laković’s place has not been filled by anyone.
“What is clear is that it is about deliberate obstruction of the work of the Committee, I will inform international partners about it,” he said.
Zirojević noted that the Law on Ammunition, which was supposed to be on the agenda today, caused a great reaction from the public.
“At the moment, this law does not have the support of the majority of the parliamentary majority. If we add to this that the report on the work of the Director of the Police Administration (Lazar Šćepanović) will not be adopted, we may end up in a situation where the work of the Security Committee will be blocked,” Zirojević points out.
The member of the ES reminded that since November, the Council for National Security has not held a single session.
“It is clear who is interested in eliminating me and who is afraid of my chairmanship of the Committee. I call on the parliamentary majority to elect a president as soon as possible and fill Laković’s place,” concluded Zirojević.
