In the midst of the World Cup atmosphere and the celebrations for LGBT Pride, some productions have found the perfect setting on the field to explore relationships that combine both worlds.
“Rivals a double game”, a production that belongs to the new genre of micronovelas, starts from that context to tell the story of Moisés Romo and Julio Castillo, two forwards who compete to establish themselves as leaders of their teams and get closer to the National Team.
But the rivalry between the two ends when they leave the field, as they begin a relationship that they must keep secret since they are immersed in an environment where image, pressure and codes of masculinity continue to be determining factors.
The Mexican production is based on the universe of the original Canadian “Heated Rivalry” about a romance between two athletes.
Starring Alejandro Goguet and Fabio Levy, the series adapts the story to professional football in just 30 chapters of between 30 and up to 90 seconds in length..
