This time, E. Kalasūnas, who belonged to the “Kamuolinių” gang, together with his accomplice David Bulot, was tried for attempted murder of other people in a dangerous way, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, damaging someone else’s property in a dangerous way.
The case was started in Kaunas District Court in December 2024. E. Kalasūnas is accused of organizing two armed attacks in Kaunas and Pakunea, D. Bulotas – of carrying out.
According to the indictment, both of them are jointly accused of having, acting in an organized group with people against whom the pre-trial investigation has been separated and other suspects identified in the investigation, organized the attempts to kill two people – VS and K.Š – in the fall of 2019 due to selfish motives.
The execution of murders is planned in a way that endangers the lives of other people.
The attempt on VS’s life took place on the evening of September 24, 2019 in Kaunas district – Garliava. An ambush was arranged near the victim’s house – several shots were fired at VS, who was sitting in the car, from a gun with a silencer.
VS left the scene unharmed – D. Bulots just didn’t hit him, but the car was damaged.
Attempt on K.Š. was held on November 10 in Kaunas – shots were fired in the stairwell of an apartment building. And this victim managed to escape. True, the arm was shot.
Thus, both defendants were tried for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, damage to other people’s property.
It was established that E. Kalasūnas also used someone else’s property of high value after acquiring it – it is believed to be a luxury car “Porsche Macan” stolen in Germany. He knew that this property was obtained through criminal means.
