The United States has said that after an Iranian drone attack on a cargo ship near the Strait of Hormuz, it has carried out airstrikes on some Iranian military targets.
On the other hand, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said that in response to the recent US attacks, it attacked some places of US forces in the region.
On the other hand, US President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran has violated the terms of the cease-fire, but Iranian officials have rejected the American claims and insisted that the Strait of Hormuz is under Iran’s sovereignty and will make decisions about the country’s security and national interests.
Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has assured the Gulf countries that Washington is committed to the security of the region and is trying to maintain coordination with its regional allies.
On the other hand, a framework peace agreement was signed between Lebanon and Israel with the mediation of America, but this agreement has been met with severe reactions.
Hezbollah and a number of Lebanese political and civic groups say that this agreement does not guarantee the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces and is not in line with the demands of Lebanon’s national sovereignty.
There have been massive protests against the same agreement in Beirut, and clashes between security forces and protestors have occurred in some areas.
All in all, despite the ongoing diplomatic efforts, the current security and political situation between Iran, America, Israel and Lebanon is still fragile and concerns about future developments in the region remain.
