A shooting in Lords Bank Village has claimed the life of a nineteen-year-old and left two others injured. Police say Giovanni Gillett was among a group of men socializing in a yard Wednesday evening, around 7:55, when a gunman pulled up and opened fire. Chaos erupted as several shots rang out, hitting Gillett and twenty-four-year-old Alfredo Flores. Both were rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in critical but stable condition, but Gillett later died from his injuries. Flores remains hospitalized tonight. A third man, identified as Edgar Flores, was also injured in the attack but chose not to seek medical treatment. Investigators say the shooter targeted the group before fleeing the scene, and so far, no motive has been confirmed. Gillett was known to police; just months ago, he was charged in connection with an unlicensed firearm and ammunition found during a police stop. Tonight, authorities are continuing their investigation as they work to determine what led to this deadly shooting.
