New technology is coming to Slovenian homes

The electric car is becoming part of the domestic energy system.

During the day, the solar power plant produces more electricity than we use. Surpluses can be stored in the battery of the electric car and returned to the house in the evening.

That is why solutions are increasingly at the fore, which enable this energy not to be sent immediately to the network, but to be used when the home actually needs it. Among the more important innovations in this field is two-way charging, which allows the electric vehicle not only to receive energy, but also to return it back to the house with the appropriate technology.

In practice, this means that the electric car is gradually taking on a new role. It is no longer just a means of transport, but can also become part of a wider energy system at home. Brand MOON in this context, he predicts the arrival of a solution BiDi Charger 11 DCits first two-way “wallbox” charger that supports the concept Vehicle to Home or V2H. When the solution is also available on the Slovenian market, it will enable users of compatible electric vehicles to also use the energy from the battery for home supply if necessary.

Such a solution is particularly interesting for households with a solar power plant. Surplus electricity generated during the day can be stored in the vehicle’s battery, and later, for example in the evening when production drops, this energy can be used in the house. This increases the self-consumption of the produced electricity and improves the efficiency of the solar power plant. This is one of the key advantages of V2H technology, which opens up new possibilities for smarter energy management at home.

As a rule, electric cars have much larger batteries than classic household storage batteries. Therefore, in certain cases, a compatible vehicle can also represent an additional energy reserve for the home. Such an approach is interesting for everyone who is thinking about greater energy independence, more flexible energy consumption and more efficient use of energy from their own solar power plant.

MOON BiDi Charger 11 DC is designed for smart energy management between the vehicle and the facility. It enables the classic charging of an electric vehicle, while also returning energy from the vehicle’s battery back to the home system, when the technical conditions for this are met. According to official information from the MOON brand, the solution supports two-way energy flow with a power of up to 11 kW and is intended for use in a home or business environment where the user wants to better connect mobility, solar energy and consumption management.

However, it is important to emphasize that two-way charging is not possible for all electric vehicles. It is available in selected compatible models that enable two-way energy transfer and meet the necessary technical conditions. In addition to a compatible vehicle, proper house infrastructure, energy management and a suitable configuration of the entire system are also required for proper operation.

That is why two-way charging is not only a new functionality of the charging station, but a step forward in the development of domestic energy. A solar power plant, an electric car and smart energy management are increasingly connected into a single system that can bring the user greater transparency, greater flexibility and better utilization of their own energy.

If the user has a suitable car, suitable software and a certified two-way charging station, an electric car can already act as an energy saver for the house today. PHOTO: MOON

MOON is already present in Slovenia as a provider of solutions for e-mobility and energy self-sufficiency, from charging stations to solar power plants, energy storage and management systems.

In this context BiDi Charger 11 DC represents an important step towards the future, in which the electric car will no longer be just a vehicle, but also an active part of the domestic energy system.
