The president of National Election Jury (JNE), Roberto Burneoconfirmed the date for the delivery of credentials to whoever wins the second round of the 2026 General Elections and to the presidential candidate who obtains the most votes in the most recent elections.

In statements to the press after the delivery of credentials to the 130 deputies elected in the general elections, Burneo reiterated that they will be ready to formally proclaim the winning formula of the presidential elections next week.

READ: JNE delivered its credentials to the elected deputies for the period 2026-2031. Who are they?

“We proclaim, just as we have done with senators and deputies, the results will be July 3 at the latestand then, we do an official credentialing ceremony. This It is scheduled for July 15 at noon as wellat the National Theater”accurate.

The magistrate assured that they are already in the process of organizing this protocol ceremony and asserted that it will be an important step because it is an important step because it is a new president and a new presidential plan for the next constitutional period that Burneo “hope it is complete”.

The head of the JNE expressed the importance that, for this purpose, the balance of powers must be maintained between the new Executive, the next bicameral Parliament and the Judiciary. “It is also important respect and balance of powersof the independence of judges and also of the JNE”.

“They question our decisions but They have to respect the institutionality of the JNE. “He is the one who has the last word on the incidents of the electoral processes and finally everyone must respect the decisions of the highest electoral authority.”Burneo highlighted.

Previously, in the delivery of credentials to deputies, the judge assured that this type of event is important because it serves to formalize the result of all citizen votes, which he guaranteed were treated equally.

READ: Roberto Burneo: “Each vote had the same value and received the same respect”

“But our greatest recognition, however, corresponds to the citizens. Millions of Peruvians went to the voting centers as polling station members and to the polls convinced that the vote continues to be the most legitimate instrument to build the future of the country. From each region, province, district and population center, as well as from abroad, each vote had the same value and received the same respect.”, expressed in the speech.
