Greenland has gained 75 new teachers, nurses, lawyers, journalists, business economists, theologians and other important professionals.
At Ilisimatusarfik’s summer graduation 2026 75 graduates received their diplomas and are now ready to bring new knowledge, new skills and new perspectives into Greenlandic society.
They are educated in 12 different areas, including business economics, social sciences and law.
This is what Ilisimatusarfik writes on their website.

The graduation marks the end of several years of targeted work, but also the beginning of a new chapter, where the new graduates must translate their knowledge into action and contribute to society.
– Greenland faces great tasks and great opportunities. Therefore, we need skilled people with professional knowledge, commitment and the courage to take responsibility. This is exactly what we are sending out into society today. This year’s graduates will play an important role in the development of Greenland in the coming years, says principal Mari Kleist.
Two prizes awarded
As part of the graduation, two awards were also presented to students who have achieved the highest grade point averages throughout their education.
The Royal Arctic Lines Prize, which is awarded to the bachelor with the highest grade point average, went to Mille Louise Rasmussen, who has trained as a teacher.
Greenland’s Business Award, which is awarded to the candidate with the highest grade point average, went to Maliina Vahl, who studied for a master’s degree in Language, Literature & Media.
Ilisimatusarfik trains bachelors and graduates for a wide range of functions in Greenlandic society. Many of this year’s graduates go straight on to work, while others continue their professional development through further education and research.
