Blida (Algeria), June 24, 2026 (SPS) – The University of Blida in Algeria organized a day in solidarity with the Sahrawi cause under the slogan “Continuous Struggle for Freedom and Dignity,” in coordination with the Sahrawi Embassy in Algeria, where participants reaffirmed the inalienable right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination and independence.
The event witnessed the presence of the member of the National Secretariat and the Ambassador of the Sahrawi Republic to Algeria, Khatri Adoh, the Dean of the University, and the Chairman of the Algerian National Committee for Solidarity with the Sahrawi People, along with political figures and representatives of the Algerian Ministry of Higher Education, associations from civil society, and a number of professors and students, as well as Sahrawi citizens residing in Algeria.
The solidarity day included a series of lectures presented by an elite group of professors and academics, which addressed several topics related to the Sahrawi issue, including: the Sahrawi issue between international legitimacy and the logic of political settlements, the role of social media in defending the Sahrawi issue, and the illegal plundering of the natural resources of the Sahrawi Republic, in addition to the role of Sahrawi women in resisting the occupation.
The Sahrawi ambassador to Algeria, Khatri Adoh, in his speech on the occasion, affirmed the Sahrawi people’s adherence to their inalienable rights to freedom and independence, and their rejection of any solutions or attempts that go beyond the resolutions of international legitimacy that stipulate that the Sahrawi people are empowered with their right to self-determination and independence. Recalling that the Sahrawi people, after fifty years of struggle, struggles and sacrifices for their legitimate rights, are still determined today more than ever to continue their victorious path until their legitimate rights are taken away.
He added that, like the rest of the peoples who struggled for their freedom and independence in various parts of the world, the Sahrawi people will remain committed to the covenant until they achieve their goals in establishing their Sahrawi republic state.
The ambassador praised Algeria’s firm and firm positions in defending and pleading for the right of the Sahrawi people, recalling its historical positions with the Sahrawi people since the beginning of their departure from their homeland and their exposure to an expansionist invasion and occupation from the warehouse in Morocco. And keeping pace with his struggle over the course of fifty years.
For his part, the University Rector, Professor Amer Bashir, renewed Algeria’s position in support of the right of the Sahrawi people, in line with the principles of the glorious First November Revolution, highlighting the openness of Algerian universities and their willingness to cooperate in organizing political and cultural activities to publicize developments in the Sahrawi issue.
The solidarity demonstration concluded with cultural performances and poems glorifying the fraternal solidarity relations between the Sahrawi and Algerian peoples, and the distribution of certificates of appreciation. (SPA)
