There is a wide demand from consumers for shishi dates
The National Center for Palms and Dates revealed that the Shishi dates have achieved widespread demand among consumers in the local date markets, with the beginning of the Bashayer date season. As one of the finest varieties of dates, thanks to its sweet taste and soft texture, in addition to its abundant production, which made it very popular among consumers during the season.
The Center explained, as part of the “Rutab Bashayer” campaign that it launched to introduce the calendar of the Manasif and Rutab Bashayer, that the shishi rutab fruits begin to ripen from mid-June, and are consumed as rutab and dates, and their size varies from medium to large, and has a long cylindrical shape, adding that it is spread in a number of regions and governorates of the Kingdom.
The “Bashir Dates” campaign seeks to inform consumers about the dates of the various date dates and their production areas. This contributes to introducing them to Saudi date varieties, raising their market value, and increasing their local consumption, in support of farmers, and enhancing the movement of commercial activity in date markets.
