Emphasizing the commitment of the Central Electoral Commission to provide proper and comprehensive information to the public, we inform.
The second sentence of part 1 of Article 13 of the Constitutional Law “Electoral Code of the Republic of Armenia” (hereinafter also referred to as the Electoral Code) stipulates:
“The lists of voters who participated in the voting, except for the signed lists of voters drawn up in military units, penitentiary institutions and places of detention of arrested persons, are published in the manner prescribed by this Code.”
The regulation of the Electoral Code suggests that the signatures of the published part of the voter lists and the numbers of the total participants of the elections may differ during the RA NA elections.
We remind you again that the numbers of voters registered in the military units and who participated in the voting are not subject to publication in any format.
However, we consider it necessary to clarify that the information spread about the 30,000 difference between the number of voted ballots and the number of signatures in the voter lists is wrong and does not correspond to reality.
Considering the above, the Central Electoral Commission calls to refrain from baseless speculations.
