The event was also attended by representatives of the legislative and executive power, regional representatives of the executive power, and other guests.

Nikol Pashinyan made a speech and congratulated those present on the occasion of the start of the work of the division of the Eco-parcel service in Hrazdan and Gegharkunik regions of Kotayk and Gegharkunik marzes. The Prime Minister reminded that the Ecopareka service is already operating in four marzes, which is an important event and change.

According to Nikol Pashinyan, it expresses the country’s strategy that we should be more attentive and caring towards nature and the environment. “Today the world is experiencing global climate changes, and we also see these changes and anomalies,” said the head of the country, emphasizing that nature should be the subject of special care.

The Prime Minister reminded that in difficult and crisis times, nature and forests were of vital importance and served our state and our people in the conditions of socio-economic crisis. “Now is the time for us to return our debt to our nature, our forests. I also want, yes, to consider the issue from the logic of the COP17 summit on biodiversity and the country presiding over COP17 in general, because forests are the environment and our attitude towards it ultimately creates or reduces the conditions where biodiversity occurs.”

Summarizing, the Prime Minister once again congratulated on the occasion of the start of work of the next department structure. “In any state service, including newly launched services, the behavior of our employees is of particular importance to us. This should always be in the center of our attention, because new equipment, new cars, new problems, new content, it also means for us a new psychology of service, a new approach to service and a new awareness of what is happening and for what.

Nikol Pashinyan wished the eco patrols a successful service and expected that it will be carried out with a high level of courtesy and professionalism, preventing violations.

The Minister of Environment Hambardzum Matevosyan and the head of the eco-patrol service of the Ministry of Environment Vladimir Kirakosyan also made speeches.

Next, the RA Prime Minister toured the building of the Hrazdan branch of the Kotayk and Gegharkunik regional department of the eco-patrol service, got acquainted with the implemented works. It was noted that with the start of the operation of the Kotayk and Gegharkunik Marz Department of the Eco-Patrol Service, the protection of state forests, forest lands and specially protected natural areas in the territory of Kotayk and Gegharkunik Marz will be ensured on a round-the-clock (24/7) basis and the implementation of control over fire safety in these areas. It was also submitted that 127 eco-patrol officers were appointed as a result of the competition in accordance with the law on “Eco-Patrol Service”. Nikol Pashinyan also got acquainted with the new technically equipped official vehicles.
