Damascus, June 23 (SANA) Foreign and Expatriates Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani met with Mauritanian Foreign Minister Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug in Damascus on Tuesday to discuss ways of strengthening cooperation between Syria and Mauritania across a range of sectors.
The talks focused on prospects for enhancing bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest, as the two sides reviewed opportunities to deepen coordination and strengthen ties between the two countries.
During the meeting, al-Shaibani and Ould Merzoug underscored the importance of maintaining consultation and coordination on issues of common concern in a manner that serves the shared interests of the Syrian and Mauritanian peoples.
The discussions reflected the two countries’ commitment to advancing bilateral relations and promoting cooperation at both the regional and international levels.
The visit comes as Syria continues efforts to strengthen its relations with Arab countries and expand diplomatic engagement with regional and international partners.
