The large fair ArcticExpo focuses on new investments and collaborations within fishing and how it can help to ensure growth and jobs in the future.
Until May strikes Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq opens the doors to ArcticExpo 2026 in Nuuk.
The capital will thus become a meeting point for companies and investors within the fishing and maritime industries, writes the municipality on their website.
The fair focuses on the development of the fishing industry – one of Greenland’s most important industries – and on how new investments and collaborations can help ensure growth and jobs in the future.
Fishing is Greenland’s most important export sector and plays a central role in both employment and economic activity. The industry creates jobs in the entire value chain – from catching and processing to transport and export and is of great importance for the development of local communities.
– ArcticExpo 2026 is helping to focus on one of our most important businesses. For us, it’s about creating a good framework for companies, strengthening cooperation and supporting the development of jobs – both in Nuuk and in the rest of the municipality, says mayor of Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq Avaaraq Olsen (IA).
For Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq, hosting the fair is also an opportunity to strengthen dialogue with business and international actors. At the same time, it is an occasion to focus on the opportunities that lie in developing fishing and maritime industries in the municipality.
