Damascus, June 23 (SANA) President Ahmad al-Sharaa received Mauritanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug at the People’s Palace in Damascus on Tuesday.
The meeting was attended by Foreign and Expatriates Minister Asaad al-Shaibani and focused on bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation between Syria and Mauritania in areas of mutual interest.
Earlier Tuesday, al-Shaibani and Ould Merzoug discussed prospects for strengthening diplomatic coordination and expanding cooperation across a range of sectors, reflecting the shared commitment of both countries to advancing bilateral ties.
During the meeting, the two ministers underscored the importance of maintaining consultation and coordination on issues of common concern in a manner that serves the shared interests of the Syrian and Mauritanian peoples.
The visit comes as Syria continues efforts to deepen its relations with Arab countries and strengthen cooperation with regional and international partners.
