The European defense company MBDA announced successful field tests of the Crossbow long-range missile. About nine months passed from the presentation of the project to testing, told in the company’s press release.
According to MBDA, the tests of the new missile were carried out from a ground platform. Testing was conducted in December 2025 and February 2026.
“The pace of development of the CROSSBOW, from drawing board to firing in less than a year, is a remarkable achievement and a testament to the collective hard work of all partners involved,” – commented on the tests in the company.
The Crossbow missile has a modular modular design, in particular, it uses military and commercial off-the-shelf subsystems. MBDA explains that the development was designed as an inexpensive impact solution for large-scale production.
The prototype of the rocket is a European company presented in September 2025. At that time, it was said that the weapon would have a range of up to 800 kilometers and the weight of the warhead up to 300 kilograms. The system will be launched from a truck, and the missile is designed to hit strategic static targets.
Earlier, “Oboronka” told that there isthe European defense company MBDA signed memorandum of understanding with the Ukrainian design bureau “LUCH”. Also France instructed European company development of the ASN4G hypersonic missile.
