    According to the CNSS annual report for the year 2024 which has just been made public, the Fund has served a total of 16.89 billion DH to more than 785,000 pension beneficiaries. The average pension reached 1,837 DH, compared to 1,814 dirhams a year previously. The details.

    The National Social Security Fund (CNSS) has just published its activity report for the year 2024. Thus, the number of declared employees recorded an increase of 2% compared to 2023, reaching 4.06 million, compared to 3.99 million the previous year. Over the period from 2020 to 2024, the average annual growth rate stands at 5%. The CNSS reports in its report that the number of declared incoming employees stood at 676,138, recording a drop of 12% compared to 2023. Among them, 402,837 are first-time declarers. In terms of gender distribution, 66% of employees are men, compared to 34% women. Note that the average monthly salary of declared employees is estimated at 3,478 dirhams for first-time declarers. Geographically, the Casablanca region concentrates the largest proportion of declared employees, with 39%, followed by Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (12%). The regions of Rabat and Souss-Massa each have 10% of declared employees. According to the document, the number of reporting affiliates reached 343,350 reporting companies, up almost 3% compared to 2023. Over the period from 2020 to 2024, the average annual growth rate amounts to 6%. The number of affiliates declaring a payroll exceeding 1,000,000 DH stood at 20,980, an increase of almost 7% compared to 2023 (19,622 affiliates) and 4% compared to 2020. This development demonstrates sustained growth in the entrepreneurial fabric and a continued expansion of the reporting base with the CNSS regime. In 2024, the declared payroll reached nearly 222 billion DH, an increase of 8% compared to 2023. Over the period from 2019 to 2023, the average annual growth rate amounts to 7%.

    More than 42,000 incoming affiliates

    The CNSS recorded 42,251 incoming affiliates, with an average annual size of 5 employees per company. Among them, 26,501 are first-time filers. The CNSS specifies that the majority of new affiliates are in Casablanca (29%), followed by Marrakech-Safi (12%) and Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma (11%). The total payroll of incoming affiliates amounts to 3.7 billion dirhams. Commerce represents 21% of this payroll, followed by services (20%) and construction (19%). Concerning outgoing affiliates, their number stands at 32,963, with a payroll of 3.4 billion DH. The majority of them operate in the trade sector (21%) followed by construction (19%).

    785,336 pensioners

    The total number of pensioners stood at 785,336, compared to 747,438 a year earlier, an increase of 5%. Among these beneficiaries, more than 555,000 are retirees, while the others receive survivors’ or disability pensions. Men represent 54% of all pensioners, reflecting a relatively balanced distribution between the two sexes. In 2024, the CNSS served a total of 16.89 billion DH to more than 785,000 pension beneficiaries, an increase of 6% compared to 2023. The asset ratio for each pensioner stood at 6, illustrating intergenerational solidarity and the sustainability of the retirement system. The average pension reached 1,837 DH, compared to 1,814 dirhams a year previously. In terms of typology, old age pensions represent 84% of the total, survivors’ pensions 15%, and disability pensions 1%. In 2024, the CNSS awarded nearly 61,000 new pensions, the vast majority of which correspond to old age pensions.

    Family allowances represented 11.25 billion DH

    In 2024, family allowances were paid to 1.76 million beneficiaries, for a total amount of 11.25 billion dirhams, an increase of 2% compared to the previous year. The number of children covered by this system stood at 3,677,158, recording a slight decrease compared to 2023 (3,682,056). Among the 1.76 million beneficiaries registered in 2024, more than 90% are employees. Note that 33% of beneficiaries receive allowances for one child, 37% for two children, 23% for three children, and less than 1% for a number of children greater than five. Regarding short-term benefits, the CNSS paid 1.44 billion DH in benefits to 253,086 policyholders, recording growth of 5% compared to the previous year. Daily sickness benefit (IJM) benefited 148,367 policyholders for an amount of 399 million DH. Compensation for loss of employment (IPE), with 415 million DH in benefits, was paid to 37,615 policyholders. Furthermore, the Fund paid 481 million DH for daily maternity benefits (IJM), in favor of 32,560 beneficiaries. Expenditure linked to birth leave amounted to nearly 10.1 million DH for 20,694 beneficiaries, down respectively 3.8% in expenditure and 5% in number compared to 2023. Death benefits were granted to 13,850 beneficiaries for a total expenditure of 143.8 million DH. In comparison, in 2023, the number of beneficiaries was 13,741, with expenditure amounting to 144 million dirhams.

    High use of telepayment with 89%

    Dematerialization : The CNSS continues to promote its online services by improving the user experience and raising affiliates’ awareness of the advantages of dematerialization. In 2024, the number of electronic reporting companies increased by 4%, reaching 319,000 affiliates. The use of telepayment remains very high, with an adoption rate of 89%. Furthermore, the CNSS Customer Relations Center has seen a real increase in its activity. It handled 2.79 million incoming calls, ensuring a response rate of over 95% throughout the year. At the same time, more than 716,000 outgoing calls were made. The Customer Relations Center also received and processed more than 238,000 emails, with a response rate of 100% over the entire year. The CNSS received and processed more than 127,000 requests for information received via its Facebook page, with a response rate of 100%.
