The businessman Thiago Brennand will marry his own lawyer, Karina Kufawho defends him in criminal proceedings.
Initially sentenced to eight years for rapesentence later increased to more than ten years, He is serving a closed prison sentence at the Potim penitentiary, in the interior of SP.
Therefore, the wedding, scheduled for the 2nd, will be by proxy.
Karina Kufa, who has already worked on high-profile cases involving, for example, the family of Jair Bolsonarotold the column that four months ago she joined the team of lawyers working on cases involving her future husband.
She says she is “fully convinced” of Brennand’s innocence and states that she trusts in his acquittal. “If God wants, we will get him out of there (from prison) soon. And God will want it.”
The lawyer and the businessman, both 46 years old, never had physical contact and fell in love, talking separately through glass at conferences in the penitentiary’s parlor.
“It was a passion for words. I fell in love with his intellect”, says Karina. “Do you know when a person is your mirror? It was an event from God, a meeting of souls and intellect. With him, I can talk as an equal”, she says.
“Everything happened differently, but I couldn’t stop experiencing it”, he continues.
The lawyer is divorced and has two children, who have already been informed about their future marriage. Brennand has a son and has never formalized a marriage. “He told his father he would only marry once,” says Karina Kufa.
The lawyer says that people have created “the image of a monster”, but that the businessman is an “intelligent and interesting” person. Imprisoned for three years, “he remains positive and confident, determined to prove his innocence and solve all his problems.”
