Martyr Al-Hafiz, June 21, 2026 (SPS) – Under the slogan of memory and justice, the Association of Guardians of Sahrawi Detainees and Missing Persons organized a human rights forum in commemoration of the National Day of the Missing.
The forum was attended by human rights representatives from the occupied territories, communities, and the Pride and Dignity camps.
The forum, which was organized at the headquarters of the Avapredia Association, began with a speech by the association’s president, Abdel Salam Ammar, who stressed the need to intensify efforts in order to uncover the truth about missing Sahrawis and their fate and achieve justice through various national and international human rights channels and mechanisms.
Abdel Salam Ammar called on the international community to shoulder its historical responsibilities towards the humanitarian cause of an oppressed people for more than five decades.
For his part, Minister of Occupied Territory and Communities Affairs and Head of the National Mechanism for Coordination and Action in the Field of Human Rights, Muhammad Mani Tamek, spoke about the conditions of the families of missing Sahrawis, their suffering, and the psychological and moral impact, stressing the necessity of human rights work in order to do justice to them by revealing the full truth.
The forum also presented a living testimony from a Sahrawi survivor of the cemeteries established by the Moroccan occupier in Western Sahara with the aim of genocidal destruction of the Sahrawi people.
The participants in the Avapredisa Forum stressed continuing to work and raise awareness of the suffering of the Sahrawis and their just cause in human rights forums, media platforms and international legal bodies, and to demand that the fate of missing Sahrawis be revealed and those responsible for the grave human rights violations committed against the Sahrawis in the occupied cities of Western Sahara be held accountable.
