In a new academic achievement that reflects the quality of its educational outcomes and the strength of its international presence, the University of Applied Sciences continued to consolidate its position among the elite global higher education institutions after achieving 655th place globally in the rankings.QSGlobal Universities 2027, to maintain its position as the best university in the Kingdom of Bahrain for the seventh year in a row. This achievement confirms the university’s success in building an integrated educational model that combines academic excellence, international openness, and direct connection to the needs of the labor market, thus enhancing the opportunities of its students and graduates to compete and succeed at the local and global levels.
The university achieved outstanding results in a number of the main indicators of the classification, most notably the international teaching staff index, which reflects its success in attracting an elite group of academic competencies and international expertise, in addition to achieving advanced results in the graduate employment index, which confirms the university’s ability to prepare qualified cadres who possess the skills and knowledge required by the accelerating labor market. The importance of this achievement is doubled in light of the intensification of global competition, as this year’s classification witnessed the inclusion of 94 new universities, bringing the total number of ranked universities to 1,504 universities around the world, which highlights the strength of the university’s institutional performance and its ability to maintain its advanced position among international higher education institutions.
On this occasion, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Professor Waheeb Al Khaja, confirmed that the advanced results achieved by the university are the result of a clear strategic vision and qualitative investments in education and knowledge, praising the continuous support provided by the Ministry of Education and the Higher Education Council, which has contributed to enhancing the ability of Bahraini universities to compete regionally and globally. He added that the university is continuing to develop its academic and research system in line with international best practices and enhances Bahrain’s position as a regional center for higher education. For his part, the President of the University, Professor Hatem Al-Masry, confirmed that the results of the classificationQS2027 represents a direct reflection of the university’s success in implementing its strategic plans aimed at enhancing the quality of education, scientific research, and academic internationalization. He explained that maintaining an advanced position globally in light of the increasing competition between international universities reflects the solidity of institutional performance and the university’s distinction in quality indicators and educational outcomes, stressing that the university will continue to invest in developing its academic programs and enhancing its educational experience to keep pace with students’ aspirations and future requirements.
In turn, the Vice President for Administrative, Financial Affairs and Community Service, Dr. Muhammad Yousef Ahmed, praised the great efforts made by members of the academic and administrative bodies, stressing that this achievement is the result of an institutional culture based on excellence, teamwork and continuous commitment to development. He pointed out that this success constitutes an incentive to continue the process of innovation and raise the level of academic and student services provided by the university.
The University of Applied Sciences continues to implement ambitious plans to develop its smart infrastructure, enhance scientific research and innovation, and expand its network of international partnerships, with the aim of providing a world-class educational experience that gives students the knowledge, skills and experiences necessary to succeed in the knowledge economy and lead future transformations.
This achievement is also consistent with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s directives to develop the higher education system, enhance human capital, and support innovation and digital transformation, in a way that contributes to achieving sustainable development and meeting the needs of the labor market locally and regionally.
