The work will be carried out in the section between Murillo and Liverpool streetswhere the repair of deteriorated concrete sectors will be carried out.

This is an intervention financed with the Road Division’s own funds, which will require an investment of $13.3 million and will be run by the R&K company.

What will the cuts be like?

According to the commune, traffic will be interrupted in stages along the entire intervened section to allow residents access to their homes.

The Mayor’s Office also clarified that Access to the British Hospital will be guaranteed throughout the work.

Bolivia Avenue constitutes one of the main north-south connections of Montevideo and links key arteries such as La Rambla, Rivera Avenue, Italia Avenue and Camino Carrasco.

    Detours planned for vehicles

During the execution of the works, those traveling north must detour through:

    • Mariano Uriarte
    • Bologna
    • Pedro Domingo Murillo
    • Bolivia Avenue

Meanwhile, those traveling south will be detoured by:

    • Vicente Rocafuerte
    • Palermo
    • Freiburg
    • Bolivia Avenue

To facilitate circulation, the Municipality ordered temporary changes of direction on several streets in the area.

    Bus routes change

The work will also affect some public transport lines that circulate on Bolivia Avenue.

The lines that leave from the Portones terminal and transit through Bolivia will follow the following route:

Av. Bolivia – Rocafuerte – Palermo – Priamo – Boliviathen resuming their usual routes.

For their part, the lines that go to the Portones terminal will circulate through:

Bolivia – Mones Roses – Bolonia – Murillo – Bolivia.

In addition, the stop located in Bolivia and Priamowhich will be provisionally replaced by a new stop in Priamo corner Bolivia.

How long will the work last?

The Municipality estimates that the works will require approximately two monthsalthough the period could vary depending on the progress of the work and weather conditions.

During this period, the authorities recommend drivers and users of public transport to plan for additional travel times due to changes in traffic.
