Is running always beneficial?
Yes, as long as we are aware of how it should be done. A lot of people just put on their sneakers and go outside!
Are they at risk of injury?
A bad tread affects the knee, lower back, etc.
How do we avoid it?
Goal-oriented strength work is essential. For example, going to the gym and lifting weights, as the muscle requires strength to propel itself.
what else
The previous warm-up is non-negotiable and it is important to study the track or the technique of the race.
What does it consist of?
It examines how the person moves, the musculature, the elasticity, the mobility of the limbs and the body, etc. We carry out some tests, he gets on the treadmill and with sensors we measure how he runs. In this way we find out if he has deficits or, for example, a more external rotation than the other leg. With this, we can already work and correct to improve efficiency and well-being during the race.
Talk about deficits.
For example, a very large tilt of the pelvis, what we call a high drop, or falling with the heel instead of the middle of the foot, taking too large a stride, lack of elasticity in a muscle… All of this causes imbalances that make you lose speed or cause injuries.
And if we have already been injured?
You need to find out how it happened, analyze the race technique. And then I’m not in favor of absolute rest. If you can’t run, you should see the type of injury and try to at least continue with strength work.
Are shoes important?
Not the most, but yes. In the end, if you work on strength and technique, a shoe that you put on for a couple of hours every seven days can work. But if you have to go running every day and you don’t work on strength or technique, the foot will be the one who works the most and the footwear should be foot-shaped and respectful.
Does the ‘barefoot’ work?
It follows this concept that the more it resembles the bare foot the better. In principle, as long as something respects the anatomy of the foot is good, but there must be a transition, adaptability and strength work.
Can we say goodbye to lice eyes?
It is a pathology that we can work on and that we can improve, maybe not 100%, but we can recover functionality and eliminate pain.
Have you suffered any injuries?
And he always lacked a guide. Now I want to help people to be able to understand the injury to improve the quality of life. We see it as normal to live with pain and it is not.
