Two new victories in Ängelholm mean that after four matches played, Sweden is on top of the points table with a 12–0 set difference.
Last Friday, Lithuania were defeated, and on Sunday the score was 25–14, 25–14, 25–17 in front of 1,852 spectators at Catena Arena, the city’s usual home ground of hockey pride Rögle.
The city’s volleyball star Isabelle Haak was in the spotlight for the Ängelholm crowd. She was awarded the best Swedish player of the match.
Two matches remain in the league phase, next weekend in Albania, against the host nation and Austria. The top four teams from the group stage advance to the playoffs.
The European League also serves as preparation for the home European Championship in Gothenburg in August.
