    There are 8 investigation files for violent acts by the black bloc during the opening of the World Cup: CDMX Prosecutor’s Office


    The Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City (FGJ-CDMX) opened eight investigations for crimes or violent acts committed by the so-called Black Block in Mexico City, during the opening of the World Cup 2026announced the capital prosecutor, Bertha Alcalde Luján.

    In a press conference with the head of Government, Clara Brugadathe prosecutor explained that one of these investigations was opened by injuries to different colleagues from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC), which has detained people.

    “At the time, the people who were detained were released; we have the investigation still in progress, collecting evidence to define if we are going to judicialize and in what cases,” he said.

    Likewise, he specified that a research portfolio for damages, in addition to other investigations that were opened without arrests, based on complaints filed by different businesses in the area that were affected. It is about three investigations related to property damage and three investigations related to damage and theft.

    “There are different business where, in addition to suffering damage, there was merchandise theft and from this, we are investigating,” he indicated.

    At the time, the Secretary of Citizen Security (SSC), Pablo Vazquez Camachoexplained that protesters are not investigated but crimes or violent behavior.

    “When we have detected the commission of crimes either acts of violence or if there are complaints, investigations are carried out. In all the demonstrations there have been investigations; have even been obtained arrest warrantspeople have been presented or called to testify or testify and it is something we will do,” he said.

    He specified that far from “any conspiracy”, it is called black block to people who demonstrate violently, that is, it is not a compact homogeneous group nor of a single group, but rather it is the way of expressing oneself in a violent way.

    “One always wonders, especially in cases like that of WorldWhat exactly can a group pursue with these types of actions? But hey, that may be part of a different type of assessment. What we are focused on and will be able to complement the Attorney General of Justiceis in investigating crimes. As we said, there was arrests that were done due to injuries, for theft and later various folders were also opened, starting from establishment complaints what were lootedwhich were vandalized and it is based on these events that we carry out investigations,” he indicated.

    On the other hand, the secretary specified that there were 19 people arrested on the opening day of the World Cup: seven for injuries to police officers; one for theft; four for false accreditations that were placed at the disposal of the Civic Court; three people for theft of cell phoneswhich were also presented to the Public Ministry and four people that were made available to the Civic Judge due to minor damages to public roads.

    Five days before the start of the World Cup, access to the Calzada de Tlalpan Floating Garden has not yet been completed; some bridges are unfinished
