Monaco is set to embrace the flavours and traditions of Spain as Café de Paris Monte-Carlo launches its annual Spanish Week from Wednesday, June 17 to Sunday, June 21, transforming the iconic brasserie into a vibrant celebration of Iberian culture.
The event arrives with added significance this year, coinciding with the 150th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Monaco and Spain and serving as a prelude to the Principality’s historic hosting of the Grand Départ of La Vuelta later this summer.
Throughout the week, guests will be treated to a specially curated menu highlighting some of Spain’s most celebrated culinary traditions. Developed by Café de Paris Executive Chef Victor Marion in collaboration with Spanish chef Fernando Lopez, the selection features classic dishes including paella, grilled octopus, Galician beef and premium Iberian ham.
Live entertainment will play a central role in the festivities. European flamenco champion Jose Lucena will perform daily alongside a troupe of dancers and singer Alvaro Alcaidhe, bringing an authentic Andalusian atmosphere to Casino Square. Guests will also be able to watch master ham carver Sandra Fernández Santos demonstrate the traditional art of preparing Iberian ham.
A highlight of the programme will take place on Saturday, June 20, when Café de Paris hosts a gala dinner marking 150 years of Monegasque diplomatic representation in Spain. The evening will welcome senior representatives from Monaco and Spain, including Monaco’s Ambassador to Spain, Catherine Fautrier-Rousseau.
For the occasion, Michelin-recognised chef Albert Gonzales Margallo of Le San Sebastian 57 in Tenerife will create a special menu showcasing Spanish gastronomy. Guests will also discover products from both the Balearic and Canary Islands through a unique collaboration involving Monaco’s honorary consular representatives in the two archipelagos.
The celebrations come just weeks before Monaco hosts the opening stages of La Vuelta 2026 from August 20 to 23. The Spanish Grand Tour will begin in the Principality for the first time, with the official team presentation scheduled to take place in Casino Square.
By combining gastronomy, music and cultural heritage, Spanish Week once again aims to strengthen the long-standing ties between Monaco and Spain while offering residents and visitors a taste of one of Europe’s richest traditions.
