Commissioner of Police Allister Guevarro says the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service remains resolute in defending the integrity of the badge, as a Municipal Police officer is expected to be charged with murder and firearms-related offences.

A 28-year-old Municipal Police officer is expected to be charged today for the murder of No. 8072 Cpl (Ag.) Anuska Eversley, which occurred on Sunday 19th April, 2026, at the San Fernando Municipal Police Station, King’s Wharf, San Fernando.
Charges of robbery with violence, trafficking of firearms and possession of ammunition are also expected to be laid against the officer, following advice from Director of Public Prosecutions Roger Gaspard SC on Tuesday 21st April, 2026.
Police said investigations were strategically coordinated by Commissioner Guevarro, Deputy Commissioner of Police Natasha George, Assistant Commissioner of Police Richard Smith and Senior Superintendent of Police Sean Dhillpaul of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Region Three.
The investigation was supervised by Superintendent Persad and officers of HBI Region Three, while ASP (Ag.) Maharaj is the investigator in the matter.
Investigations are ongoing.
