More than 4.17 million national and international tourists visited Kampong Cham Province during the three-day Khmer New Year celebrations, provincial authorities said.
Provincial governor Un Chanda confirmed 4,178,623 visitors travelled to the province during the festive period.
On the third day of the celebrations, which fell on April 16 and marked the traditional “Srang Preah” ritual, the province recorded 1,709,655 visitors. Of these, 105 were foreign tourists, while 1,709,550 were domestic travellers.
The capital, Kampong Cham city, attracted the largest share, with 1,565,584 domestic visitors and 43 international tourists. Meanwhile, Sangkranta events held across various districts drew a combined total of 78,725 visitors.
Tourist resorts across the province welcomed 65,618 visitors, including 49 foreigners. Accommodation figures remained modest, with 728 domestic tourists and 13 international visitors opting for overnight stays.
Compared with the same period in 2025, the number of domestic tourists rose sharply by 1,430,395, representing an increase of 52 per cent. In contrast, international arrivals rose only slightly, by around 2 per cent.
