President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon today, April 21, went on a working visit to Kazakhstan. In Astana, he will take part in the Regional Environmental Forum and a meeting of the Council of Heads of State-founders of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea, reports the press service of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
On the trip, the head of state is accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister, the Presidential Assistant for Foreign Relations, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Energy and other officials.
The summit and council meeting will be held April 22-24.
The Regional Environmental Summit 2026 (RES 2026) serves as a platform for bringing together Central Asian countries to develop coordinated, practical solutions and mechanisms that reflect a regional approach to addressing climate and environmental issues, including the Aral Sea.
The main goal is to develop specific initiatives and mechanisms for collective action to ensure a sustainable future for Central Asia
At the meeting of the heads of state-founders of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (IFAS), it is planned to discuss projects to improve the environmental situation, rational use of water resources and preparation for the next stage of implementation of IFAS programs.
