The first months of the year 2026 have represented a challenge for Antioquiaparticularly in matters of risk managementbecause of the heavy rain that hit several regions of the department in an unforgiving manner, affecting these territories on multiple levels.
This Wednesday, the director of the Administrative Department of Risk Management of Antioquia (Dagran), Vanessa Paredes Zúñigamet personally with the director of the National Disaster Risk Management Unit (Ungrd), Carlos Carrilloto socialize the progress of the implementation of the Specific Action Plan for Recovery (Paer).

This plan was structured as a result of cold front which reached its highest peak last February, causing heavy rains that led the departmental administration to declare public calamity in 13 municipalities of the Urabá, Bajo Cauca and Southwest of Antioquia.
In a first balance, the director of Dagran He noted that so far they have been delivered 22,909 humanitarian aid in the 13 municipalities affected.
Likewise, the official specified that the Secretary of Physical Infrastructure ha invested nearly 16,000 million pesos for recover passability of the secondary roads in the subregions.
Besides, Paredes highlighted that the work for the installation of foundations is progressing so that the Invías installs two military bridges about him Mulatos River and San Juan Riverin Urabá, where the flow of these water bodies grew as a result of the rains and ended up causing the collapse of structures.
On the other hand, the entity attached to the department of Antioquia executed the beach cleaning in Turbo, Necoclí, San Juan and Arboletes where they were also carried out green works such as regeneration of slopes, dikes, among other actions to prevent coastal erosionall in favor of recover these areas within the framework of the tourist activity that is concentrated there.

“Our bet from Antioquia Governorate has been doing that immediate response attentionthe resources have already been committed, now we are in the execution and in the final phase of this intervention,” explained the director of Dagran, who also specified that the Peer implementation has required a investment of 72,000 million pesosof which, 51,000 million pesos have already been committed.
Finally, they highlighted that the Secretariat of Economic Development advances in delivery of more than 1,300 kits with inputs field producers who lost production on their land, to accelerate the productive recovery.
The next step of the plan implementation was discussed during the meeting between Carrillo and Paredes.
