Russia produces about 40-50 Kh-101 cruise missiles per month. Also, the occupiers produce up to 70 Iskander-type missiles, reported in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with reference to the words of the colonel and Mrtin researcher Oleksandr Zaruba State Scientific Research Institute for Testing and Certification of Weapons and Military Equipment.
The occupiers switched the production of X-101 missiles to almost 24-hour mode, the military said.
“Russia continues to increase the production of air attack equipment. For example, the aggressor switched the production of Kh-101 missiles to a 24-hour mode, producing 40-50 units per month, and “Iskanders” – 60-70 per month”, – Zaruba is quoted in the General Staff.
Russia is still not able to establish its own mass production of complex electronic components, so it uses electronics manufactured by the DPRK and Western countries on a large scale. Occupants use dual purpose components.
“One X-101 missile includes up to 160 foreign components. The Shahed/Gheran type drones include at least 50 units of various microelectronics,” the military officer explained.
Oleksandr Zaruba said that the Ukrainian military is noticing a trend that the Russian Federation is trying to make the production of missiles cheaper and emphasizes their quantity, not accuracy.
X-101 rocket – a strategic air-launched cruise missile that Russia launches from Tu-95MS and Tu-160 strategic bombers mainly over the Caspian Sea.
At the beginning of a full-scale invasion, the missile had a warhead weighing about 480 kg, a flight range of up to 2,500 km and a combined guidance system with inertial navigation, satellite correction and an optical-electronic targeting system in the final flight section. In particular, the Kh-101 received a tandem warhead.
Last May, “Oboronka” reported that the Russian Federation planned to produce 633 Kh-101 cruise missiles during the past year. Factories worked in three shifts. As of October last year, some of the rocket manufacturers are still was not under the sanctions of Western countries.
