A delegation led by Turkmenistan’s Minister of Education, Jumamyrat Gurbangeldiyev, took part in the International Conference on Strengthening Cultural Ties and Developing Creative Industries, which took place on June 18 in St. Petersburg.
The event focused on current issues of strengthening cultural ties, preserving shared historical and cultural heritage, developing interstate humanitarian dialogue, and promoting creative industries as an important area of modern international cooperation, according to the website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

The conference featured speeches by Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Turchin, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic – Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic Adylbek Kasymaliev, Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov, and Minister of Education of Turkmenistan Jumamyrat Gurbangeldiyev.
In his speech, the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan noted that, given Turkmenistan’s chairmanship of the CIS in 2026, particular importance is attached to strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation, preserving historical and cultural heritage, developing interstate dialogue, and promoting modern forms of partnership. It was emphasized that Turkmenistan, guided by its open door policy and permanent neutrality, views culture as a “golden bridge” that unites peoples, strengthens trust, mutual understanding, and respect.
