The Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs on June 17 welcomed the Memorandum of Understanding reached between Iran and the United States on June 15, describing it as a positive step toward ending conflict and promoting peace in the Middle East.
In a statement issued by its spokesperson, the Ministry commended Pakistan and other relevant countries for their role in facilitating dialogue and mediation that led to the agreement.
The Lao PDR expressed hope that the memorandum would serve as an important foundation for continued negotiations and diplomatic efforts to resolve outstanding issues and bring lasting peace and stability to the people of the Middle East.
The statement reaffirmed Laos’ support for peaceful dialogue and the settlement of international disputes through diplomacy and cooperation.
