The ONPE explained that, according to the rule, the regular members (3) and alternate members (6) must appear at their voting location at 6:00 am to install the voting table.
If they do not arrive at the installation time, they will be declared absent and will have to pay a fine of S/ 275, as reported by the ONPE.

In addition, the entity detailed that once the voting table has been installed, the substitute members cast their vote and leave.
In that sense, the ONPE electoral education specialist, Alexandra Velasque, told Andina that “everyone has to be there when the table is set up and sign the corresponding minutes, otherwise they will be considered absent and will have to pay the fine. However, they will be able to vote when they show up because it is their right.”
In the event that the regular and alternate members do not arrive in time to install the voting table, the ONPE staff will request the support of the voters in line. Those citizens who carry out this work will receive compensation of 165 soles.
“However, they will not be able to use the day of rest because that benefit is conditional only for table members who attend the training,” the specialist clarified.

The deputy manager of Documentation and Electoral Research of the ONPE, Pablo Hartill, stated that each voting station will have two secret chambers with the aim of speeding up the voting process.
“The time that voters have to cast their vote is one minute, however, nothing happens if it takes a little more time; we estimate that it could last a minute or a minute and a half, which is why we will have two secret cameras to make it easier for the queue to move forward,” he explained.
