John Saldivar is back in the public eye and he’s taking direct aim at Minister Oscar Mira. Despite being sidelined politically and viewed by many as persona non grata, the former Belmopan area representative is mounting a relentless social media offensive, positioning himself at the forefront of the criticism against Mira. His reemergence is turning heads and fueling speculation about a possible political comeback. But that door may not be wide open. UDP Leader Tracy Panton says Belmopan already has its caretaker in Khalid Belisle, signaling that while Saldivar is making noise online, his path back into frontline politics may be far from certain.

“We spent the latter part of almost two hours and our focus must be the corruption of Oscar Mira and any citizen in this country has the right to raise concern about Oscar Mira and the corruption. But let me assure you the United Democratic Party has a well, well established, well prepared caretaker in the like of Mr. Khalid Belisle and Mr. Khalid Belisle will be representing the UDP in the next election.”
Belisle served two consecutive terms as the mayor of Belmopan from 2015 to 2021.
