Unexpected words of a close ally of Putin: Lukashenko spoke about the harsh reality on the front – World – News

In an interview published on Monday by Al-Arabiya TV, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko declared that Russia and Ukraine must reach a compromise in order to end the war between them. According to the close Kremlin ally, it is clear that victory on the battlefield is unrealistic for both sides, although he noted that Russian forces are still advancing. TASR informs about it according to the Reuters agency.

“Today we must use all means to reach a peace agreement through compromises,” Lukashenko said in an interview. “If both sides realize that it is impossible to continue, because otherwise there will be an escalation and the situation will get even worse, and if the fighters and their followers realize this, then it will be possible to reach a compromise,” the Belarusian president thinks.

According to Lukashenko, the conflict cannot be resolved militarily, as progress on the battlefield is slow and both sides must deal with the lack of soldiers.

Shock in Belarus? The dictator received a point from his teammate. Lukashenko remained lying on the ice

Is there a place in Belarus where the self-proclaimed president could be untouchable? Yes: it is located on the ice surface on which Alexander Lukashenko likes to skate with a hockey stick in his hand. The last dictator in Europe, as he is nicknamed in the free world, experienced a blow for the first time, after which he fell on the ice and had to be helped to his feet. “The Russians feel this lack. Maybe not as much as in Ukraine, but they feel it. And that is the main problem of this conflict – they are running out of people,” the Belarusian president stated.

Reuters reminds that Belarus allowed Russia to use its territory for an attack on Ukraine in February 2022 and allowed Moscow to deploy nuclear weapons on its territory. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently declared that Ukrainian forces have strengthened their positions on the battlefield and new Russian attacks could therefore be launched from Belarusian territory.

Lukashenko has repeatedly emphasized that Belarusian forces will not join the war in Ukraine, and in an interview with al-Arabiya he emphasized that Kyiv has nothing to fear from Minsk.

“There is nothing to fear. Nothing at all. They know it, the soldiers know it. The people in Ukraine know it,” he said. “This topic is only swirling with political ambitions,” he added.
