Delegations have begun arriving in Tripoli to take part in the fourth training officials’ forum of the African Petroleum Producers’ Organization (APPO), due to open on Wednesday.
The event will bring together training officials, experts and specialists from member states to discuss capacity building in the energy sector.
Libya’s National Oil Corporation, which is hosting the forum, said all organisational, technical and logistical preparations have been completed. Delegations were received by the organising committee, led by the organisation’s secretary-general.
Participants are expected to explore ways to develop training and qualification programmes, exchange expertise and share best practices in human resource development, in response to rapid changes in Africa’s oil, gas and energy sectors.
The organisers said hosting the forum reflects Libya’s role within Africa’s oil industry and its support for strengthening professional and technical cooperation among member states.
The NOC said the event is part of efforts to promote investment in human capital and enhance African cooperation in training and development, supporting the growth of the oil sector and broader sustainable development goals.
