The Karak Governorate Endowments Directorate organized a blood donation campaign in cooperation with the Blood Bank for the South Region at Karak Governmental Hospital, where (50) units of various types were collected, with the aim of helping to provide a sufficient reserve of blood to hospitals to achieve immediate response to save the lives of patients.
Director of the Karak Endowments, Sinan Al-Majali, told Al-Rai that blood donation embodies the meanings of solidarity and humanity and is consistent with the purposes of Islamic law, and is considered one of the best charitable deeds for which a person can be rewarded. He pointed out that the Directorate’s initiative to organize this campaign in which the Directorate’s cadres participated is in line with the societal responsibility that we believe in and we are working to maximize.
He stated that the campaign contributes to providing the blood bank and the governorate’s hospitals with additional blood units to meet the need of patients whose health condition requires providing them with blood to heal them and not endanger their lives. He pointed out the importance of consolidating the concept of blood donation as a culture and a humanitarian duty, stressing the Directorate’s endeavor to organize other similar donation campaigns on a larger scale in the coming days.
In turn, the Director of Karak Governmental Hospital, Dr. Ali Al-Sarayrah, and the Director of the Blood Bank, Dr. Thamer Al-Mubaideen, commended the Endowments Directorate’s initiative to donate blood due to its importance in providing a sustainable stock of blood units to save lives and meet the constant demand in hospitals, as one blood plate can save the life of more than one person, in addition to the tangible health benefits for the donor himself. They urged everyone to spread the culture of blood donation that reflects images of altruism and community solidarity.
