Disaster for AC Milan, in the season in which rival Inter won the championship: they missed the Champions League qualification

Italian team Como beat Cremonese 4-1 away from home on Sunday evening and finish the season in 4th place, going on to play in the Champions League. AC Milan is on six and will play in the Europa League.

AC Milan, the team that looked like they would fight for the title, had a poor end to the season and fell to 6th place, missing out on the presence in the Champions League. In the last stage, the Milanese lost 1-2, at home, against Cagliari, having in goalkeeper Maignan one of the best players. The Sardinians, in a match without a stake, recovered the disadvantage of being in the lead since the 2nd minute when Saelemaekers scored, equalized through Borrelli (min. 20) and took the lead with Juan Rodriguez’s goal (min. 57). Instead, Cesc Fabregas-led Como beat Cremona 4-1 and finished 4th, qualifying for the Champions League.

Thus, after 38 stages, Inter Milan, Naples, AS Roma and Como will represent Italy in the Champions League, while Juventus Turin and AC Milan go to the Europa League.

Cremonese, Hellas Verona and Pisa were relegated.
