The president of the Chamber of Commerce of Macedonia, Branko Azeski, has been elected acting president of the Chamber Investment Forum (KIF), a regional organization that unites chambers of commerce from the countries of the Western Balkans.
The decision was made unanimously at the session of the KIF Board of Directors, held in Belgrade, during which Azeski was mandated to implement fundamental structural reforms in the organization, as well as in the Business Council, a body composed of the largest companies in the region.
As announced by the Chamber of Commerce, several important initiatives were adopted at the session, including the preparation of a study for the establishment of a Regional Training and Certification Center. The realization of this project will be supported by the German Development Bank.
Azeski is considered one of the most experienced representatives of the business community in the region. In his career, he was twice the president of the Association of Balkan Chambers, for more than a decade he has been the vice-president of KIF, and for over 20 years he has led the Chamber of Commerce of Macedonia.
The Chamber Investment Forum was founded in 2015 as part of the Berlin Process, initiated by former German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Based in Trieste, the forum represents the voice of the private sector in the region and represents the interests of approximately 350,000 companies from the six countries of the Western Balkans.
The basic mission of KIF is the promotion of regional economic cooperation, the facilitation of business connections and the realization of joint initiatives in the interest of the business community.
