The authorities captured on this Friday night alias ‘Víctor Chala’noted leader of an armed commission of structure 36 of the General Staff of the Blocks and Fronts (EMBF), of the dissidents of ‘Calarcá’ during a operation carried out at the Flandes toll, in Tolima.
The research organizations link to this noted criminal with events that occurred in the past May 7 in the Palmichal village, rural area of Briceño, specifically with the order and participation of the disappearance and subsequent murder of journalist Mateo Pérez Rueda.
The procedure was carried out around 11:05 at night when units of the Dijín and the Special Operations Group (Goes)in coordination with the Tolima Police, They intercepted the vehicle in which the alleged member of that illegal armed group.

Against alias Víctor Chala weighed a arrest warrant for the crimes of terrorism, extortion and aggravated criminal conspiracy. Together with him they were five other people arrested in flagrante delicto crime of manufacturing, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearmsaccessories, parts or ammunition.
During the procedure, the authorities seized four 9 millimeter caliber pistolseight suppliers, 115 cartridges of the same caliber, 33 million pesos in casha Toyota truck and seven cell phones that will be analyzed within the investigation.

According to intelligence information, alias ‘Víctor Chala’ would accumulate close to ten years of experience within illegal armed organizations. In 2024 he would have served as financial leader of the Darío Gutiérrez commission, attached to the EMBF structure 36.
The authorities indicate that since April 2026 he was designated as the leader of an armed commission with interference in the municipality of Briceño, Antioquia, where he was also considered one of the trusted men of alias ‘Primo Gay’, another of the commanders of that structure.
