Police have been called in to investigate the death of an individual at a military facility, with limited details available at this stage.
It is understood the individual had been taken into custody in relation to a recent attempted break-in at the Republic of Fiji Military Forces armoury.
In a brief statement, the Fiji Police Force confirmed the matter is under investigation.
“We can confirm receipt of a report of a case of interest whereby an individual had lost his life at the said facility, which is now under investigation. We will release more details soon,” police said.
Authorities have yet to disclose the circumstances surrounding the death as investigations continue.
