He reacted to Péter Magyar Szilveszter Ókovács’ comment that he would like to hold the state ceremony on October 23 at the Opera House. According to the director of the Opera House, the representatives of the outgoing government have already sought him out for this reason, and they were given an offer of HUF 59 million plus other costs.

In addition, Ókovács wrote that they do not play for “friends” at the Opera House, and that they take the performance of their duties seriously. The post then goes on to say:
“In connection with October 23, 2026 – several months ago – through the interested representative of the Prime Minister’s Office, they received an offer of HUF 59 million + other costs. Of course, the negotiation has run out of reasons and stopped, so I recommend the originally scheduled centenary Kodály concert on that date, if no other higher decision is made.”
By the way, on Opera’s side a Kodály concerto is indeed included on the evening of October 23rd, but at the time of writing this article it is not possible to buy tickets.
