New details are coming to light regarding the disappearance of 34-year-old Eglant Koçi, for whom the police have announced the close friend, Armand Shakaj, as the suspected perpetrator.
According to sources for the journalist Xhensila Kodra, Shakaj is suspected of having used a wheelbarrow to transport his vehicle, in which the body of the 34-year-old man is believed to be inside, to the area of Iba. This action, according to the investigators, was carried out on June 6.
The footage from the security cameras shows that Koci’s body was allegedly kept in the vehicle for about a day and a half, as he had last contact with his family on June 4.
The police have identified the owner of the cart and interrogated him. He stated that he had left the vehicle near a service station in the Iba area, after Shakaj had told him that the car had broken down. According to his testimony, after handing over the vehicle, he was no longer aware of what happened and was not aware of the contents of the vehicle.
Meanwhile, gunpowder remains were found in the premises of the office where Koçi is suspected to have been kept. The investigative group is awaiting the results of the expertise to determine more precisely the circumstances of the event.
For several days, the police have been focusing on two main lines of investigation: finding the body of Eglant Koç in the areas around Tirana, Elbasan and Librazhdi, as well as locating and arresting Armand Shakaj, who has been declared wanted as a suspected perpetrator.
Reliable sources say the 41-year-old has changed six mobile phone numbers over the past few days in an attempt to avoid being traced by the authorities.
