A forensic report from the First Supraprovincial Prosecutor’s Office Specialized in Human Rights of Junín revealed that one of the five deceased in military operation in Colcabamba He received more than fifty shots. This was confirmed by the expert examinations carried out on the bodies of the victims on April 25 in the province of Tayacaja, Huancavelica.

This was confirmed by the expert examinations carried out on the bodies of the victims on April 25 in the province of Tayacaja, Huancavelica.
According to the document, Colombian citizen Nilsón Eduardo Montenegro Valencia received a total of 51 bullet wounds to the body. The rest of the occupants were also shot multiple times. Cristian Vilcatoma Águila registered 16 hits, Wilder Romero Sevipaucar presented 12 perforations, William Núñez Soto died from eight shots and Jaime Bendezú Paraguay received three hits.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, what happened in Colcabamba was a one-way attack by the Armed Forces patrol. According to investigations, the soldiers opened fire with assault rifles despite there being no real, lethal or imminent threat.
Subsequent inspections confirmed that there were no firearms or shipments of illicit substances inside the vehicle, and only minimal traces of narcotics were found through adhesion tests.

Provincial prosecutor Zina Romero Chávez requested 18 months of preventive detention for the eight soldiers who made up the patrol: Luis Montenegro, Brayan Fernández, Douglas Villacorta, Edilberto Marcos, Andy Sánchez, Jorge Aguilar, Américo Vásquez and Fernando Córdova.
The file incorporates the story of Ricardo Jamier Acuña Quispe, one of the three survivors who managed to escape the shooting by jumping from the moving unit:
“So in the early morning, when I was near this place, I saw some uniformed men on the road who had long weapons and the driver of this truck began to accelerate and at that moment I heard gunshots, after the scare I jumped out of the truck and ran towards the river, then I hid on a rock,” declared the young man.
