Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov held a telephone conversation with Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Farzaneh Sadegh, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported.
During the conversation, the parties discussed the progress of implementing the agreements reached following the 18th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Turkmen-Iranian Commission on Economic Cooperation, which was held in Tehran on May 19–20, 2025. The parties also reviewed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation.
It was particularly emphasized that cultural and humanitarian cooperation remains a priority area of bilateral relations.
The Iranian side expressed gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the humanitarian aid sent on March 14 to the people of Iran on behalf of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care.
