The situation in Israeli basketball worsened after a new ceasefire break and an exchange of fire with Iran. The semifinal match of the Israeli championship between Hapoel from Tel Aviv and Hapoel from Jerusalem was interrupted when the basketball players from Tel Aviv were leading 77:67, the hall was evacuated due to security sirens. The match did not continue after that.
Due to the precarious situation, Hapoel Tel Aviv faced a serious personnel problem. Some of the foreign basketball players are said to be thinking about leaving Israel, Antonio Blakeney and Daniel Oturu but they have already left the country.
The first man of the club Ofer Yannay therefore offered players a special bonus. Each member of the team is said to be able to choose a luxury Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watch worth about 50,000 euros, several models of this watch also have Luka Dončić. The condition is clear: the players must stay at the club until the end of the season, and Hapoel must win the title of Israeli champion.

Hapoel is one of the main contenders for the laurels this season, and they also play in the team Vasilije Micić and Chris Jones. The latter is said to be on Red Star’s wish list, and among the players who have expressed concern about the security situation is also mentioned Tai Odias. The continuation of the series and the decision on whether the matches will be played in front of an empty hall will be made in the coming days.
