On the morning of this Sunday, June 7, the head of government Clara Brugada inaugurated the Floating Garden about Tlalpan Causeway in the facilities of San Antonio Abad Metro.

With an extension of 1.8 kilometers between Pino Suárez and Chabacano stationsthis elevated corridor was conceived as a new space for pedestrians, combining green areas, rest areas, urban art and spaces for coexistence on one of the busiest avenues in Mexico City.

The project has seven dynamic sections, 18 sculptures and 64 rest modules, as well as gardens designed to attract pollinators such as bees, butterflies and hummingbirds.

From different points along the route, visitors can also enjoy urban and panoramic views of the Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl volcanoesin a proposal that seeks to integrate nature, culture and public space.

Although the Floating Garden has already opened to the public, around the Calzada de Tlalpan you can still see unfinished workssuch as the connection with the Metro Chabacanoas well as work on bridges, under bridges and some sections of sidewalks.
